 A resort for the whole family, Copper Mountain is perfectly designed for a fun family ski vacation. Not only do the pedestrian villages offer a safe environment where the kids can have some freedom, Copper Mountain is constantly staging events in the main square that are focused on children. From movies in the plaza to Kid’s Night Out, the Olympic Pool and ball courts to the Arcade, and let’s not forget the tubing hill! Copper Mountain really knows how to make the most out of a family ski vacation with more for the kids than most other major ski resorts. We have a few recommendations that will make your visit to Copper Mountain more enjoyable for the adults and children:
We know that the skiing & snowboarding is enough fun to put the kids to bed early, but there is much more to help make this one of the most fun-filled vacations for the entire family!!!
Tubing– Zip down the snow-carved track, join in a tubing chain, or spin your way down to the bottom of Copper’s Tubing Hill. Located at the base of the Super Bee lift in the East Village, the ride up the hill on the rope lift adds to the fun. Reservations can be made with Guest Services at the resort. Adults are $18.00 & kids 13 & under are $12.00 per hour. Open all day and into the evening.
Ice Skating– Adding to its winter wonderland status, the ice skating pond in the Center Village is a total blast. Open 10am-7pm Sunday-Thursday & 10am-9pm Friday-Saturday. Skate rentals available for $5.95/hour for kids 13 & under & $7.95/hour for ages 14 & older. Free to those with their own skates. Copper offers lessons, broomball tournaments & skating exhibitions.
Ready-Paint-Fire– A unique panit your own pottery shop along the ice skating pond offering a wide array of unique pottery creations for the young of age or young at heart to create their own memories of Copper.
Coppercade- A fun place for the kids to keep busy while the adults enjoy the serenity of the Rockies. Located in the Center Village in the Taylor’s Crossing building.
Belly Button Bakery– For kids 6 months-2 years old the program follows each child’s eating, sleeping, & play schedules. Soft food snacks & lunch are provided. The nursery has a separate sleeping area, brightly colored play area & nursery. Kids ages 2-4 will play indoors & out during a fun-filled day. They will enjoy playing in the snow & sledding on Copper’s Belly Button Bump. Inside, the kids will create art, bake cookies for Mom & Dad, & relax during the quiet time. Snacks & lunch are provided. Located in the Mountain Plaza building in the Center Village. Reservations recommended. Full days are 8:30am-4:30pm at $83.00 with a reservation & $93.00 for walk-ins. Half days are mornings only at $73.00 with a reservation & $83.00 for walk-ins.
Kids Night Out– The fun never ends for the kids at Copper. Both the kids & the parents will enjoy an evening out, where the kids will make their own pizza, create art, watch movies, & meet other kids. This program is offered by the resort Wednesday-Saturday, 5:30pm-10pm for free to parents spending at least $30.00 per child at the resort that evening. Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.
In Room Childcare– Available at $12. per hour for the first child & $1.00 per hour for each additional child. Sitters are limited so advanced reservations are highly recommended. |
